Minerals are chemical elements that you are not able to make in your body. This means that you have to obtain them from food or supplements.

Minerals are crucial components of the structure of your entire body and are generally needed in larger amounts than vitamins.

Whilst minerals are vital for ensuring that muscle activity, circulation systems, tissue and the cells of your body behave normally, only a limited number have been included in official RDA lists.

Mineral deficiencies are more common in the Western world mainly because our intensive farming methods have depleted our soil and the chemical fertilizers we use don’t replace them.

Additionally, highly processed foods such as white flour, rice and sugar have had most of their mineral content removed during their production.

Taking mineral supplements needs more research than vitamins as many minerals compete with each other for absorption into your body - calcium and magnesium being a prime example - and, in many cases, can be far more harmful if taken in large doses.

The list of minerals in your body is pretty exhaustive and it still isn't known fully which trace minerals are essential for good health. However, the major minerals have been well documented.

If you'd like to find out more about each of these major minerals, what their role is in your body and what the signs of deficiency are, my book is an essential purchase!

Written in plain English, it covers everything you need to know to decide how to supplement your diet, if you need to in the first pace and how to make sure you're getting the best supplement for your needs.

Plus, it covers the 24 most common ailments and which supplements can help - and why.

Here's what has been said about my book....
